Nudie Cohn

Nudie Cohn, pictured on the cover of Issue No. 36, was tailor to the celebrities.  His signature suits were covered with rhinestones and appliqués, often with distinctive themes.  His suit for Gram Parsons featured cannabis leaves, pill bottles, and naked women.  For Elvis, he designed and produced a $10,000 gold lamé suit.  Nudie himself was an accomplished mandolin player and even released an album of country hits on which he is accompanied by some of country music’s most famous musicians.
