Doug Sahm

My final cover for Rolling Stone was again Doug Sahm, this time an individual portrait for Issue No. 86.  Sahm was a country music child prodigy.  When he was only five years old, he made his radio debut and at age 11 released his first record.  Beyond founding the Sir Douglas Quintet, and being sought after as an enormously competent session musician, Sahm was considered one of the significant musical forces behind what has come to be known as the Tex-Mex sound.
